Why i don't understand some of the pro-choice arguments?

"40 years ago, a drive to NYC for an illegal abortion

December 30, 2009
THE CONTROVERSY about abortion rights being part of health insurance reform brings back the following pivotal episode in my life.

In the 1960s, I was working as a pharmacist in Boston, and my views on abortion were still emerging. There was a young college student who worked in the pharmacy who got pregnant by her boyfriend. Abortions were illegal then, but she found a physician in New York who did them. I drove her down there because her boyfriend was nowhere to be seen.

What an experience! I couldn’t go in with her, so I waited outside for four hours till she finally came out sick as a dog. And I was worried about my winding up in the slammer.

That experience shaped my views on women’s reproductive rights. I became pro-choice then, and at 66, I still am.

This article Confused the living daylights out of me!

If I were this man, who had just broken the law by driving this woman to go have the abortion, seeing her come out as "sick as a dog," worry about going to the slammer. I would have been pro-life after seeing what the woman had gone through. I just don't get it!

How is it that someone can go into a pro choice facility, see everything they do and still come out and say that they're pro choice?

I'm sure most of you reading this have heard of the woman who used to be a very respected person in the abortion mill she worked in, she quit after seeing a baby fend for his life in the womb of the mother that wanted the abortion. She saw the baby on the sonogram that the mother wasn't allowed to see; she was knocked out for the entire procedure; she saw the doctor put the needle in and try and kill the baby with a shot. The baby swam away and tried to save its self. Now you tell me the baby doesn't have a functioning brain, that it doesn't have a thought process. That baby has more thought process than a fish, because a fish will see the hook; it'll see its death coming, but it still swims right to it.

It never ceases to amaze me that people will see the horrors of abortion and just look over them and say well she's not pregnant that frees her to be who she wants to be. They don't evan realize how wrong they are. Once a woman comes out of there she won't be able to live her life the way she used to. She'll remember when she finally has kids the one that she didn't have, the one that didn't make it past the womb. If someone who has a miscarriage is affected by it, she feels sad on the same day that it died, then what do you think a person who purposefully kills their child is going to do? Also, what about the boyfriend? What responsibility did he have to face up to? She had to face the procedure he didn't have to do anything he's free of having to deal with a girlfriend who's pregnant. It's more of a fix up for the guy than the girl, the guy doesn't have any of the side effects or the mental issues that may also come up.

Some ideas on the things out there

"This is in response to community columnist’s Chris Newton’s Nov. 8 article on his views about abortion. Enough is enough!

What right do you have to condone a woman’s choice? What right do you have to judge us? Every woman is in a different place in her life when she chooses an abortion, and these situations are not all black and white but a lot of gray.

I, myself, chose to have an abortion during my marriage 30 years ago. There is not one day that goes by that I do not mourn since then. It took me 30 years to forgive myself. The decision was very painful and the experience still raw. But, because of the circumstances at the time, I still believe I had to have this procedure.

I had a choice, thank God. I’ve had to live with it. So, Mr. Newton, please stop your blathering on this subject. Leave the issue alone. Drop it.

Fran A. Miller

Powell" This letter was written on a collume that a man wrote on a newspaper.

While many people feel this way, it's mostly because there in denial from what they did, they don't want people telling them what they already know and making it harder for them to deal with what they did.

I recently talked to a woman who had an abortion, then she realized what she did was wrong, now she goes around trying to tell all the women of the world what the truth behind abortion is. She told us that when she was placed in the chair for the procedure she realized what they were doing and didn't want to go through with it any more. She tryed to stand up and leave but the doctor held her down and shushed her telling her that everything would be ok. The next thing she new, she wasn't pregnant any more, she was place in a room with two other women they were all staring at each other and were eating the crackers the doctors gave them. They couldn't say anything, nothing that would make them feel better about what they just did.

Now the women has a son and 2 daughters one was adopted because she couldn't support her financially, she sees her daughter often and is best friends with the adopted parents. But she told me that she can still hear the sound of the suction taking away her first child when she goes to sleep each night.

So you see now matter what people are saying they feel, most likely there really feeling another way, society has taught many of us to mask the pain never let it be shone so that no one can take advantage of you, but really planned parenthood has been taking advantage of our fears so that they can get the money they want.So many women have fallen pray to the racial, money greedy people at the "pro-choice"/ "planed parenthood" .It's not a planed parenthood when you willingly killing an Innocent child just because you can't afford it or because you just don't want the kid. If you don't want it or you can't afford it then don't have sex in the first place. The main reason people abort is because the baby is an "inconvenience". The baby wouldn't be an inconvenience if you had waited till after marriage to have sex, and had a good income to support the child. So many problems can be solved if we would stop telling our youth that it's ok to have sex before marriage as long as you use a condom. The condoms Planed parenthood gives out, you can't find them in stores, you wanna know why? Because there horrible!! they have holes in them, my teacher said that a friend of hers took the condom that they gave her and filled it with water, the water came out through about 10 holes that were in it. YOU CAN STILL GET PREGNANT EVAN IF YOU WEAR A CONDOM!! they don't stop everything, you can still get STDs if you wear a condom. No matter what Planned Parenthood says about condoms it's all a lie to get you to have sex and to have the unplanned pregnancy and go to them for the abortion. There getting you to help there business empire. They don't care about you or your feelings, except the ones that make you go into there facilities. They don't do sonogram guided procedures for two reasons, they take longer and they want to have as many abortions as possible. Two is because they know if the people that work for them see the baby fighting for it's life they wont work for them any more and that'll lesson the amount of abortions and ruin there entire empire of death.

Doing something about the problem

The Highlands School in Irving went to an abortion center on Friday, they took there own personal school time to go out and try and save lives.

These are some of the girls that went there, right now they're praying the rosary for the unborn children.

It was incredibly beautiful to here them all in unison (we were using some walkietalkies that a man generously let us use) praying the rosary, the the stations of the cross.

Many time it's the husband or boyfriend telling the woman to get the abortion, well i can tell you about 50 men who would never do that. The Highlands boys were there, and were leading the prayers and songs.
This was the best i could do to get all of the men in one picture, as i said before there were allot of them.
I'm trying to get some more pictures, but the rest are on facebook : SOLO on Facebook

EWTNs response to my e-mail

I had asked EWTN (a Catholic radio and TV station proclaiming the good word) to look at our web site and see what they thought.
Dear Teen for life,

We are sorry for the delay in answering your letter. We receive a large amount of mail and we answer each and every letter: unfortunately, it takes a lot of time! We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Thank you for your email and for thinking of us. I think it would be best for Priests for Life to evaluate your website.

Mother Angelica and her Poor Clare Nuns of Perpetual Adoration will remember to offer prayers for your pro-life work before Our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament.

God Bless you

EWTN Viewer Response

Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

As you can guess it was a real pleasure to get an e-mail back, i will e-mail the Priests for Life and pray they like what were doing and have some advise for improvements.

god bless,

day of silents

there is a group out there that has set aside October 20th to morn the children that never get a chance to speak and make a difference in the world, so what they do is they take a whole day of silence to get a take of that suffering that the mother will never have of speaking to her child or the child never being able to speak to his mother.
here's the link to get more information on this day and what you should do if you want to pertisapate:http://www.silentday.org/
I personally am doing this,I'm hopeing that i won't have to give a report that day at school :D. I pray that we all have the courage to go to our work, schools, and homes and do this.
God bless,

a pro-lifers view on the resent killing

As many of you know there have been many resent killings on both of the side on the war for abortion.
I wish to say this to the people that believe that killing someone is going to help with there side of the cause: It's never going to work. I know I'm being very blunt, but it just doesn't balance out. You can't kill someone and say that your against killing baby's, also you can't kill a human being a say that you are not actually killing someone. In both cases most people agree with me that there is no way on Earth that when you wake up and you think; "Oh i think I'm going to help my cause by killing someone." ABSOLUTELY NOT! That doesn't make any sense at all.
On an article that i was reading this morning about a man, God bless his soul, was protesting out side of a school that was OK with contraception and holding "graphic pictures of the fetus" (Evan though there version of graphic needs to be altered a little) and one woman said this; “This is not something any group on either side of this debate would ever contemplate condoning,” Ms. MacCleery said. She is basically summing up this in tire entire, with just a few simple words.
If you want to know more about whats going on with this killing here an article about it: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/12/us/12slay.html?hp ,

the name means everything

In a way this writer is right and in another way she is way off. She says that; “A pro-life person is a vegetarian because eating meat takes away the life of an animal." Yes, some of us are vegetarians (I personally am not but one of my family members is), but God gave us animals such as cows and pigs to help us get some of the nutrients we can't get as easily. Also, animals deserve our care, but they are different than people -- who have immortal souls and conscious thought. The name we really need to change is that of the pro-choicers; the name contradicts what they really do; they give one choice: Abortion. The pro-lifers give so many more choices; I found a (for lack of a better word) picture that shows the opposing sides and their "options"(it's to the right of the post). I’m sorry if you can't read it the copy wasn't very good, and these are only some of the choices pro-life people give woman.

Also, It's unfair to lump a minority of extremists in with all pro-lifers. Abortion itself is violence to the babies and the mothers.

It’s time to stop calling them “pro-life”

August 13, 7:20 PMAnchorage Liberal ExaminerAlexa Dobson

Dr. George Tiller performed late-term abortions for nearly forty years in Wichita, Kansas. During that time, his clinic was bombed (1986), he was shot in both arms by an anti-abortion activist (1993), he was falsely charged and later acquitted of 19 misdemeanors (2009), and finally, he was murdered by another anti-abortion activist (2009). Right-wing talking head Bill O’Reilly mentioned Tiller in at least 28 episodes of “The O’Reilly Factor,” calling the doctor “Tiller the Baby Killer,” alleging that Tiller was a criminal under Kansas law, and declaring that Tiller was hellbound for providing abortions to women who desperately needed them.

David Gunn, a doctor, was murdered by an anti-abortion activist in 1993. His murder inspired the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, which made it illegal for protesters to prevent women from entering reproductive health clinics. The next abortion provider to die was John Britton, who was murdered in 1994 by Paul Hill, a pastor and anti-abortion fanatic. Hill showed no remorse for his actions, and was executed for his crime. Four years later, Barnett Slepian was shot in his home by an anti-abortion activist. The anti-abortion group Operation Rescue praised the murder and held rallies to encourage more violence and bloodshed.

Wikipedia reports that since 1977, there have been 383 reports of death threats made to abortion providers, 153 assaults, 3 kidnappings, 17 attempted murders, 655 anthrax threats, 41 bombings, 173 arsons, 619 bomb threats, and 1264 incidents of vandalism.

It’s about time we stopped calling anti-abortion terrorists “pro-life.”

A pro-life person is a person who values and protects life. A pro-life person opposes war because war kills innocent civilians. A pro-life person is a vegetarian because eating meat takes away the life of an animal. A pro-life person seeks to reduce the number of abortions in this country not by murdering people, but by encouraging people to use contraception.

Health Care?

Many U.S. citizens are well aware Pres. Obama is trying to get abortion covered by our national health care plan.  I believe abortion isn't taking care of a woman, it's destroying her.   Many times there are medical problems after the abortion such as:
  • cervical tearing and lacerations from the instruments
  • perforation of the uterus by instruments. This may require major surgery, including hysterectomy.
  • scarring of the uterine lining by suction tubing, curettes, or other instruments
  • local and systemic infections
  • hemorrhage and shock, especially if the uterine artery is torn
  • anesthesia toxicity from both general or local anesthesia, resulting in possible convulsions, cardiorespiratory arrest, and in extreme cases, death
  • retained tissue, indicated by cramping, heavy bleeding, and infection
  • postabortal syndrome, referring to an enlarged, tender and soft uterus retaining blood clots
  • failure to recognize an ectopic pregnancy; this could lead to the rupture of a fallopian tube, hemorrhage, and resulting infertility or death, if treatment is not provided in time.
These are just the medical problems.  What about the emotional damage?  With all these things piling up about the side effects of abortion, why would anyone want to have to one or pay for one through our tax dollars?
(all of those bullet points came from a simple online search "side affects of abortion")

Does being pro-life mean that we should kill abortionists?

Some people today think that to be truly pro-life means that you are willing to go to the extreme and kill the people doing the abortions, when truthfully it's the other way around.
When you are truly pro-life you believe that EVERY life is sacred, not only the mothers' lives, or the children's lives, but also the lives of the people that commit the abortions.  I was reminded of the false, extremist opinion among some people who believe killing abortionists is OK when I read this article in The Associated Press.  Apparently, there is a Rev. Donald Spitz that supports violence against the abortionists. This in my opinion and the opinion of many others that he is NOT doing the right thing.  You can't end murder with murder; it goes against everything.  If you kill a doctor that does abortions, are you really doing any good?  I mean the only thing you're doing is convincing people more and more about the lie that we are a terrorist group just killing off people when really we should be out there saving people (and I don't mean that you have to become a nurse and save them that way, but that would be amazing if you did). Anyway, I just thought I'd let the world know that pro-lifers aren't out to kill the abortionists.  We want them to be saved, too.
"And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over the one more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray." Mt 18:13

Suspect in abortion doctor slaying chastises Operation Rescue

More News

WICHITA The man charged in the killing of a Kansas abortion provider has sent a letter to the president of Operation Rescue, accusing him of "cowardice" in condemning the shooting while seeking to protect himself.
The letter from Scott Roeder is the latest split in a widening rift between mainstream anti-abortion groups and those that advocate violence against abortion providers. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the letter Friday.
Roeder is charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault in the May 31 shooting of Dr. George Tiller at his church. Roeder has pleaded not guilty.
Operation Rescue president Troy Newman confirmed that he received the letter Thursday but declined to comment other than calling it "more prattle" from Roeder. Newman said Roeder's letter, the second he has now gotten, was forwarded to a detective.
In the letter, Roeder chided Newman for seeking protection for himself after getting death threats from abortion rights supporters following Tiller's shooting.

Are we losing our freedom of choice?

Why is it that nurses are now being forced to do abortions? We all have a choice to have an abortion, but for a nurse to be forced to give an abortion is just going against the real freedom of choice.  Here is the article from the Washington Times, about the docter who had her rights takin from here, and how she's reacting.

A Roman Catholic nurse who says she felt "violated and betrayed, liked I had been raped" after being forced to take part in a second-trimester abortion is suing a New York City hospital on charges of violating her rights.

Catherina Lorena Cenzon-DeCarlo, 35, a Filipina nurse who is a permanent U.S. resident and married to an American, says that Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan "blatantly" violated a 35-year-old federal law that protects health care workers with religious objections from having to assist in performing abortions.

The hospital performed a late-term abortion on a woman whose health was not at risk, she says. The nurse is asking for a jury trial that could strip the hospital of hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding until it complies with the law.

"I hope that Mount Sinai will obey the law and allow health-care workers not to assist in abortion against their beliefs," she said in a statement. "I believe lots of nurses and doctors throughout the country are being pressured to assist abortion, and I want them to know they are not alone, and they should speak up for their rights of conscience."....(rest at http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/jul/31/nurse-sues-after-aiding-abortion/)
